Victoria Concert Hall

Happy Chinese New Year Concert, in collaboration with Singapore’s China Cultural Centre, will be a lively musical feast to celebrate the New Year, conducted by Mr Quek Ling Kiong and featuring soprano Ms He Mi Ya, Dizi player Ng Hsien Han and Liuqin player Loi Ee Vian. The concert will feature a slew of familiar Chinese classics like Dragonboat Tunes and Blossom Flowers under the Full Moon, as well as compositions that strongly reflects the Singapore culture.

In line with Ding Yi Music Company's mission, the Youth Chinese Chamber Music Project (YCCMP) is a project started for the talented youths in Chinese music scene.

 

The project ends with a concert conducted by Maestro Xia Fei Yun at Victoria Concert Hall, where participants perform pieces they practiced during the project phase.

Indulge in a relaxing afternoon of nostalgic tunes such as Kopi-O and Moonlight in the City by Chinese chamber music ensemble Ding Yi Music Company, featuring Campus Superstar winners Shawn Tok, Benjamin Hum and Yap Jia Min. Come join us this March with your picnic baskets!

Virtuosos of Chinese Music

In collaboration with Esplanade-Theatres on the Bay, Ding Yi Music Company will be bringing you the fourth instalment of the iconic concert Virtuosos of Chinese Music at the Esplanade Concert Hall. The company has prided itself in presenting concerts of high artistic value by inviting well-known figures in Chinese music, and this year, Ding Yi Music Company has invited three maestros, Xue Ke (Erhu), Zhang Wei Liang (Dizi) and Zhou Wang (Guzheng). They will be performing to famous tunes like Tears for Fallen Flowers, The Western Cappricio and The Ballad of Lan Hua Hua.

As part of SPH's Gift of Music series, Ding Yi Music Company collaborated with local singer Benjamin Hum from Campus Superstar to bring you Sing with Us! During the performance, our audience members are invited to sing songs from a selected repertoire up on stage with us!

Ding Yi Music Company will be holding its third Chinese Chamber Music Festival. We will be inviting new Chinese chamber ensembles overseas to perform for us. Ding Yi Music Company will also be premiering more newly composed works by local composers. As with the previous festivals, there will be workshops, talks, free performances and exhibitions.

Du Peng Peng, Chang Yan Ni and Zhang Hong Li present melodic caricatures of daily life, each a musical capsule of timeless beauty and artistry. The beauty of Northwest China is expressed through these enchantingly earnest cultural treasures. 

Singapore's Ding Yi Music Company, under the baton of Maestro Cao Wen Gong, provides elegant musical accompaniment and also performs instrumental adaptations of the region's folk songs.

Challenging the barriers between musicality, cultures and music genres, Ding Yi Music Company presents a night of East meets West, Chinese Music Quintet with Western Piano and Strings Quintet. Showcasing Ding Yi’s very own virtuoso musicians collaborating with renowned Vietnam chamber ensemble, Song Hong Chamber Music. The concert showcases new compositions by Ding Yi Music Company Composer-in- Residence, Phang Kok Jun, guest composers Liong Kit Yeng, Wang A-Mao and guest Composer-Conductor Darrell Ang.

Of Music and Art

During the December school holidays, Ding Yi Music Company will join forces with Hawaiian Javanese dancer Garrett Kam and sand artist Lawrence Koh to put together a special performance for all who are interested in exploring new music production. Through the unique mediums of both sand art and dance, Of Music and Art: The Legend Retold will take the audience down the journey of the legend of the Sisters’ Islands. The concert will showcase the new arrangement of the award winning composition “The Sisters’ Islands” young Singapore composer, Wang Chen Wei.
